Heraldic flags provide a colourful guard of honour for guests entering the towering medieval Keep. Inside, three immense rooms, which once hosted visiting monarchs and their courts, carry on the tradition of feasting and making merry. The two upper rooms are ideal for drinks receptions whilst the lower room is perfect for dining or medieval banquets.

During World War II, the tunnels were a hive of activity where 700 servicemen and women lived and worked, manning telephone exchanges, plotting the progress of ships, and even operating on wounded troops in the underground hospital. Guided tours can be arranged, complete with costumed characters if desired.
