About the venue

Since the Peña Family moved in to the 55 room historic 15th Century story book Castle in 1984, there have been many requests for entry to it from all over the world - including from as far a field as Australia.

The requests covered; film & movie makers, documentary producers, wedding organisers, hoteliers, private citizens, photographers, corporate hospitality organisers and Members of The Guthrie Clan (for good reason). With a few exceptions for day visits, all requests have been politely refused and access to the grounds has been very limited. However - the Family have always planned on allowing others to bask in what they have carefully restored, preserved and tastefully added over the years and that time has come. Guthrie Castle is a perfect setting for your special day - a true fairytale venue. Any Wedding held at Guthrie Castle is private and secure, where our staff ensure your expectations are exceeded! Guthrie Castle is a perfect setting for your next Corporate Hospitality event or important business conference. Any Function held at Guthrie Castle is totally private and secure. Whether you are discussing plans and strategies, brainstorming or team building, you will find the facilities provided at Guthrie Castle are unparalleled. You may wish to entertain some key clients or treat leaders in the company to one of our Golf Outings, Shooting parties or merely relax in the opulent surroundings of Guthrie Castle. Guthrie is available for Christmas Parties, Champagnes Receptions, Private Dinners, Product Launches or Presentations and there is a spectacular 2 day New Year package for 2006/07. This spectacular, well manicured grand estate is located 75 minutes by motorway from Edinburgh airport, 100 minutes from Glasgow, 60 minutes from Aberdeen and 30 minutes from Dundee. Helicopters can land in the grounds and transfers can be organized from all the above airports taking approximately 15-50 minutes.
