The specially designed River House is ideal for executive meetings, corporate entertaining and other events. It offers a peaceful retreat close to Preston, Manchester and The Lakes, where you can enjoy some of region’s best food, drink and hospitality. Once a coaching inn at the historic crossing of the River Wyre, the property dates back to the 17th century. The location offers visitors spectacular views of the riverscape and the quietly beautiful Bowland fells beyond. The Cartford Inn has gained a nationwide reputation for its outstanding hospitality. It is loved for its contemporary, rural-chic interiors that afford guests relaxed and informal dining experiences. The best produce from across Lancashire is used to create favourite British dishes alongside more adventurous cooking. The hotel has 15 individually designed and furnished luxury bedrooms. Their unique, two-floor venue for private and corporate events has been created by entirely renovating an old on-site barn. Inside, antique and contemporary furnishings are mixed in a style reminiscent of the rest of the inn. Inspiration has been taken from local creativity as bespoke wallpapers designed by local artists feature alongside reclaimed oak panelling. Lighting fixtures created especially by master glassblower John Ditchfield are a highlight of the design. As well as letting in natural light, the windowed front allows you to enjoy the magnificent views. The building’s main suite facilitates undisturbed, boardroom style meetings for up to 20 delegates. Whether you are holding senior management discussions or meetings with business customers, the peaceful rural surroundings and stylish, comfortable furnishings create an environment conducive to creativity and productivity. For small meetings, or for use as a breakout area, the upstairs loft space is ideal. Skylights let in natural light and the elevation allows privileged views of the surrounding landscape. Daily rates include the use of an overhead projector, screen and sound system, free high-speed wi-fi, use of a flip-chart and stationery, tea and coffee, mineral water and assorted cakes or pastries and fresh fruit.
