The centrepiece of the first floor is the elegant Court Room, bathed in generous light from the high windows overlooking Trinity Square. It is ideal for receptions prior to luncheon or dinner, and as a venue for board meetings. The carpet, woven in Ireland, is the second largest single-loom carpet in the British Isles and contains 20,736 knots to each square yard.

The main function room for banquets, conferences, cocktail receptions and theatre-style presentations is the versatile library at the east end of the House, which can accommodate up to 120 people. It also has a musicians' gallery, with enough space for a chamber orchestra, and a sumptuous display of silverware, including alms dishes from the 17th century and an 1880 silver saltcellar in the form of Winstanley's Eddystone lighthouse.
