The House of Detention at Clerkenwell House

Unusual Venue

1 meeting rooms

About the venue

Infamous, potently atmospheric and cavernous, there has been a prison on the site of the Clerkenwell House of detention since 1617.

The current vaults date from the Victorian prison of 1845. This extraordinary period location and rare Victorian original is ideal for filming and music videos, stills, events, shows and exhibitions, advertising and commercial shoots and private parties. The venue has previously staged site-specific theatre and arts events, and was open to the public as a London tourist attraction. Now available as an event venue your guests are unlikely to forget, with its rare period architecture, eerie Victorian atmosphere and dark history.
