About the venue

The Royal Victoria and Bull Hotel is a 400 year old coaching inn located in Rochester, a city of immense historic interest, ideally situated for exploring local points of interest such as the cathedral, the castle, the Roman ruins and the Restoration House.

Originally called The Bull, the hotel acquired its present name after a visit by Queen Victoria in 1836. The hotel was regularly frequented by Charles Dickens, and is mentioned in several of his novels. Much of the original hotel is preserved, including a fine staircase, the entrance hall and the ballroom. The Hotel has 28 rooms, two fine Function rooms, four bars and a restaurant (currently undergoing refurbishments) and is able to host an array of activities from Weddings to Conferences. There is an on site car park which is locked at night. The Hotel is strategically placed within minutes of the A2, M2 and M25 and London, Dover and the Channel Tunnel are readily accessible. Rochester Train Station is a 10 minute walk away, which has direct lines to London Victoria, Charing Cross and numerous Kent Coast destinations. Whether you’re here to soak up the historic sights of Rochester or simply here on business, we look forward to welcoming you to The Royal Victoria & Bull Hotel.
