About the venue

St Hugh's College is fortunate to have fourteen acres of self-contained grounds surrounded by lawns, borders and mature trees, making this one of the loveliest hidden delights of Oxford in which conference delegates can relax within easy reach of lecture halls and living accommodation.

The College is within about ten minutes walk of Oxford city centre - close enough for access but retaining a quite and pleasant atsmosphere. The College buildings include elegant Edwardian neo-classical, understated 1930s art deco, 1960s brutal, a less uncompromising 1960s interpretation of Oxford College vernacular, 1990s Victorian revivalist and several imposing Victorian houses characteristic of North Oxford. Situated in the middle of the grounds is the modern and inspirational Maplethorpe Building. Completed in 2000, it provides large versatile spaces with views over our beautiful Gardens, both from the conference areas on the ground floor and the 96 modern en-suite bedrooms above.
