Recent Venue Familiarisation Trips

Here at Conferences group we pride ourselves on our expertise and knowledge of the venues we partner with and aim to visit as many venues as we possibly can. Recently, our venue finding team spent their weekend experiencing some of Conferences Group's preferred suppliers. First up the team travelled from our offices in Manchester to The Hilton Birmingham Metropole www.hilton.com/Birmingham, one of the largest convention hotels in the UK. It was particularly beneficial to see all of the meeting spaces and how they can work for larger events. The team were also able to experience the hotel's first class catering and were spoilt with a fabulous banquet of Spanish Tapas, showcasing one of the many options available for conferences and events. It was also helpful to view the large, lakeside terrace which is perfect for private events, something we are often asked to help our clients find through our free venue finding service. After a great night's sleep, and an early start (made a little easier with a Hilton Full English Breakfast) the team then travelled back to Manchester and headed to The McDonald Manchester www.macdonaldhotels.co.uk/Manchester. The team at The McDonald took the opportunity to showcase the hotel and the city of Manchester itself, as the city amenities are often a key consideration for a larger conference or exhibition. First the conferences team enjoyed a boat trip up the Manchester Ship Canal https://manchesterrivercruises.com/, taking in sites like the Imperial War Museum, Coronation Street and the home of Manchester United, Old Trafford. Once back on dry land the group went to Junkyard Golf https://www.junkyardgolfclub.co.uk/manchester/ which proved to be perfect for team building activity. Back at The McDonald the team were given Afternoon Tea with Prosecco, then relaxed in the large spacious rooms before heading down for dinner at the Hotels Scottish Steakhouse restaurant. After a good night's sleep the team enjoyed another cooked English Breakfast and headed home for some much needed rest and ready for the week ahead. While the venue team were visiting the Hilton and The McDonald, Simon Thompson, Managing Director of Conferences Group visited the Point, a 1200 capacity meeting space at Emirates Old Trafford http://emiratesoldtrafford.lancashirecricket.co.uk/venues/the-point/ which was full to capacity for the Lancashire v Yorkshire 20/20 cricket match, enabling the Old Trafford team to showcase their amazing meeting space to best effect. If you have a meeting requirement, why not use our free venue finding service. As you can see we take pride in our expertise and knowledge of venues as well as our market leading software, which enables to produce beautifully crafted proposals for each enquiry we receive. Why not give us a try next time you are booking a meeting or event. http://www.conferences-uk.org.uk/
