About the venue

The 20th Century Theatre is a great place for conferences and meetings.

Victorian theatre built in 1860 now a grade II English Heritage listed building. 1800 sq. ft. plus adjoining reception room located in Notting Hill Gate. The 20th Century Theatre is a Grade II listed English Heritage Building, now a fully restored London venue. Built around 1860, it was used as a theatre prior to becoming the London Opera School and a venue for professional and amateur theatre groups. Charles Dickens is known to have read his stories from the stage in 1862 whilst Laurence Olivier made his debut here as well. The Theatre is now available for private hire. The area comprises 1800 square feet of floor space in the main Theatre. An additional 650 square feet is available on stage with a 300 square foot gallery. Note that the venue provides only one room, with a balcony and stage area.
