About the venue

The Swallow Columba sits on the banks of the River Ness overlooking Inverness Castle.

The hotel is situated in the city centre of Inverness, widely known as the 'capital of the Highlands'. The relaxed atmosphere is in keeping with its location, where modern comfort and style blend seamlessly with the traditional Victorian features retained throughout the property. Each of the en-suite bedrooms has television, wireless internet, tea and coffee making facilities, iron, 24 hr room service and a 24 hr porter provided. Many of the rooms also include views overlooking the River Ness and Inverness Castle. The hotel's carvery restaurant serves a fantastic selection of freshly prepared food, as does John Macnab's bar and bistro where a wide choice of over 100 malt whiskies can be enjoyed. There is much to see and do in the area such as visiting Urquhart and Cawdor Castles, Fort George, Cairngorm National Park and the legendary Loch Ness. Our friendly staff is always on hand to help with booking any attractions and to ensure that your Scottish break is truly unforgettable. Business There is a dedicated suite of meeting and conference rooms on the first floor of the hotel. The location of these rooms in the oldest part of the building (dating back to 1881), means that you get all the advantages of high ceilings and large windows - plenty of fresh air and natural light - together with pleasing views of Inverness Castle and the River Ness. To this traditional comfort we've added the modern benefits of air conditioning, the latest conference and meeting technologies and wireless (WiFi) broadband internet access. So you get the best of both worlds. Ness Room The Ness Room is the largest in the suite, capable of seating seventy people in a theatre style set. It is popular for: Private dining for up to sixty persons; smaller, intimate wedding receptions; conferences; training courses and private parties. The bay windows at the end of the room looks directly up to Inverness Castle. Ness Lounge Opening up the Ness Room and Lounge together makes an ideal venue for exhibitions or larger reception events. Again, you can enjoy those wonderful views of Inverness Castle! Moray Room, Beauly Room, Cromarty Room (The 'Firths') All of the 'Firth' meeting rooms are designed for smaller events, seating between 8 and 10 persons at boardroom tables, or up to 14 persons theatre style. These are popular for private dining and meetings where discreet, unobtrusive service is the order of the day. They can also be used as break-out rooms for larger meetings held in the Ness Room. Business Sense Lounge Equipped with internet linked computer, fax machine, business desk and leather sofas, the Business Sense Lounge can be used as: A temporary office; a base for conference organisers or a last-minute venue for an impromptu meeting.
