firstsite, Colchester’s breathtaking golden-clad visual art destination, is set to transform the conference scene in the East of England.

The spectacular building, designed by internationally renowned architect Rafael Viñoly, is in its final phase of construction, and open now for business bookings from September 2011. Located in the heart of Colchester, within easy walking distance of all the town’s shops and historical attractions, firstsite’s conference facilities centre on a 200-seat tiered auditorium. Boasting a 6-metre tab tension screen and SMART Slate technology, this state-of-the-art space is perfect for conferences, screenings, and awards ceremonies. All of firstsite’s hi-spec meeting rooms boast natural daylight, and intelligent room hardware. Included in the price of your booking are LCD projection screens, video conferencing facilities, wi-fi, break-out spaces, a dedicated conference co-ordinator, and town-centre parking. Delegates are of course free to be inspired by firstsite’s programme of world-class contemporary art – making it the perfect venue to encourage creative thinking! The firstsite experience begins as soon as delegates step into its vast, glass-fronted foyer. This magnificent space – big enough to host a car launch, trade show or reception for up to 200 people – features a rolling digital ‘curtain’ at bulkhead level, ideal for product promotion.
