This impressive Victorian Mansion was built in the 1830's, commissioned by Sir William Ogilvy a hero of Waterloo. The house was modified and converted in to the beautiful hotel it is today in 1945 and has been the welcoming guests from all over the world eversince.. When the house was remodeled the interior hall was modified to replicate one of the grand saloons on the famous Cunard cruise ship, The Mauritania. The chandelier and wall light fittings are in fact originals from the ship herself, bought at auction when she was decommissioned in 1938. Overlooking the small friendly town of Alyth, the hotel commands superb views over both its own beautiful terraced garden, and the lush fields and golf courses that surround the attractive Perthshire town. With its magnificent wood panelled hallway and grand staircase The Lands of Loyal is an inspirational setting for a wedding, a family gathering or simply a romantic weekend break.
