When we first heard about this building being available, we turned it down. Not for us, bit too 1980′s, bit vanilla, bit too far from Borough Market and London Bridge station. Love it when we’re wrong. Fortunately Neil, the agent who introduced it, did that whole stalking thing until we relented and headed down there, so we are very much in his debt. First up this building is much closer to the market and the station than you realise (London Bridge is Northern and Jubilee lines and main line), and almost opposite Borough Station (Northern). And secondly, when we were on site, we removed some of the ceiling tiles and saw amazing ceiling heights and a coffered concrete ceiling throughout. That was that then. A beautiful ceiling showed us the potential (well done Sam for actually looking although he is the tallest in the office so kind of expected). We’re on site now, punching holes to open up the ground and first floors and adding another floor on top. A mix of individual offices, meeting rooms and shared working spaces under our co-working spaces co-working offer. We’re back on track with our sustainability hat on, so we have a number of Green Roof gardens, Rainwater harvesting, low energy lighting, PV and solar panels, lots of bike storage (secure) and showers, drying room etc. A great meeting needs a great meeting room. The rooms are tailored to specific types of meeting both in design and technology and are available by the hour or the day. 10 meeting rooms & possibly more with partitioned walls All the AV equipment is available and included in the cost Great breakout space outside the meeting room area

If there’s one building that we have that speaks for itself, it’s The Shard. We looked at a range of floors that were available but figured if you’re going to be in The Shard, you want the views. So we went for the highest office floors we could take on levels 24 and 25 (the highest office floor is level 28). Stunning views across London in a building that is recognised globally (and by Charlie’s 6 year old daughter). Architects Archer Humphreys (responsible for The Standard Hotel in New York and the Chiltern Firehouse in Marylebone) have been working with us to create space that highlights the extraordinary views wherever possible with a warm palette of materials and colour for a more intimate environment than you might otherwise expect in this building. A great meeting needs a great meeting room. The rooms are tailored to specific types of meeting both in design and technology and are available by the hour or the day. 8 meeting rooms Different styles for different meetings All the AV equipment is available and included in the cost Great breakout space outside the meeting rooms for informal meetings, including the lounge

The Company of Watermen and Lightermen of the River Thames was established by Act of Parliament in 1555 to regulate water men and wherry men carrying passengers by boat under oars on the River Thames. The lightermen who carry cargo joined the Company from the Woodmongers in 1700. It remains the only ancient City Guild to be formed and controlled by Parliament. The Act of 1555 introduced apprenticeship for a term of one year to learn the watermen's trade, and the Company has continued to train watermen and later lightermen upon the present time. On completion of their apprenticeship, young Freemen of the Company are eligible to compete in the oldest sculling contest, Doggett's Coat and Badge Wager, first rowed in 1715. This gruelling race is held in July each year starting at London Bridge with the finish line at Chelsea. The winner has the honour of wearing the scarlet coat, breeches and silver arm badge similar to the traditional costume of watermen. The present Hall dates back to 1780 and remains the only original Georgian Hall in the City of London. It was designed by William Blackburn and is a perfect example of eighteenth century domestic architecture, with Parlour and Court Room. On the Ground floor the Parlour and Silver Rooms are both ideal for small meetings, breakout rooms or discrete dinning. In the heart of the building there is the Court Room, this beautiful room is ideal for meetings or small receptions. With its large windows, it enjoys natural daylight and the many fine paintings provide an interesting backdrop and introduction to the Company's history The Hall was extended in 1983 to include a larger dining and meeting facility, the Freemen's Room; this has recently been refurbished to the most exacting standards. It features extensive natural daylight but also has the benefit of complete black-out facilities for presentations All this provides a suite of rooms that are both elegant and adapted to modern day conference and banqueting requirements.
