Wakefield Cathedral has four spaces for hire, accommodating groups sizes up to 600 people, from the boardroom style to the mediaeval splendour of the Cathedral nave. For groups who have members with special needs or Disabled Peoples' Organisations who may be considering hiring the facilities, currently the Cathedral Nave, Treacy Hall and the Education Centre are fully accessible at ground floor level. The Eastwood Room is only accessible via a staircase. There is a fully accessible toilet in the corridor between Treacy Hall and the Cathedral. The Education Centre has accessible toilet facilities on the ground floor. However, we are constantly looking at how we can improve the accessibility of our buildings and facilities to make them available for all. There is a 'loop system' for people who have a hearing impairment and a PA system and power supply for 'powerpoint' or audio presentations.

The Orangery

It's been a bathhouse, a school, zoological gardens and home for tropical plants but today the Orangery is a unique and high quality conference venue. Built around 1800, the Orangery is a fantastic grade II* listed heritage site in the centre of Wakefield. Adjacent to Westgate railway station, with on site parking and within easy reach of the M1 and M62, the Orangery has excellent transport links. Two rooms plus break out space are available with the capacity to hold up to 70 people. An extensive range of equipment is also offered for hire, with facilities for digital projection.
