Opened on the 29th September 1973 by the late Bryan Walters, Clerk to the Bedworth Urban District Council it was an ambitious project for a small local authority but one of which the local people have been fully supportive. The Civic Hall is a multi-purpose venue and has a variety of spaces available catering from 5 to 745 delegates. These can be hired for private or corporate events and are suitable for meetings, performances or indoor sports events in the Main Auditorium or Small Hall, dances, concerts, exhibitions, conferences, weddings, parties, wakes, training sessions, AGM’s, presentation evenings and awards events. Archie’s restaurant is situated in Sandiacre 5minutes from the M1 motorway junction 25 and the A52 to Derby approximately 15 minutes and Nottingham approximately 20 minutes. Sudley House was built in 1821 by Liverpool corn merchant Nicholas Robinson (1769-1854). He had bought the land it stands on, some 30 acres, for £4,500 in 1809 from the Tarleton family, as part of the sale of their Aigburth estate. The architect of the house was probably a local man, John Whiteside Casson (1767-1842).
