Our range of venues provides the perfect environment for a wide variety of events, and can accommodate up to 200 people. The Invicta Suite is particularly impressive for larger gatherings – it has its own private bar and lobby area, natural daylight and air conditioning. This adaptable venue can be split up into smaller spaces to create break-out areas or syndicate rooms. If you’re planning a residential event, we have 146 bedrooms, 35 of them newly refurbished. And if you find time to relax, there’s a fabulous choice of leisure facilities, including the LivingWell Health Club, where a major refurbishment will be complete by the end of March 2007. It includes a swimming pool, gym, steam room and sauna. Or perhaps simply chat over dinner in our newly refurbished Seasons Restaurant.

    The Kent Event Centre opened at the Kent Showground, Detling in 1991 and has grown ever since with the development of new modern purpose-built event spaces. All the profits from the Kent Event Centre go to the registered charity; Kent County Agricultural Society. Formed in 1923 the Kent County Agricultural Society aims are to improve and promote agriculture, forestry, horticulture, allied industries, rural crafts and the breeding of livestock, across Kent.     The Commissioner’s House is the oldest intact naval building in Great Britain. The house was built for Captain Geroge St Lo, on he site of an earlier residence built in 1640. On arrival in 1703, St Lo complained that the Chatham residence was a poor substitute for his previous lodging and successfully petitioned for a new house. The house’s most attractive internal feature is a painted ceiling depicting an assembly of the gods, taken from the Great Cabin of HMS Royal Sovereign. Today the Commissioner’s House is still on site and is used for weddings and events. The garden behind it is open to the public to explore! Originally the garden incorporated one of Britain’s earliest Italianate water gardens. You can see the Edwardian glasshouse with a great vine, an 18th century ice house and a 17th century mulberry tree still to this day!
