HMV Forum is one of London’s major live entertainment venues. It is located in Kentish Town, North London and is one of the UK’s best-preserved original theatres. The Forum was originally built as an art deco cinema in 1934 by Herbert Yapp, a cinema magnate who also owned the Forum cinemas in Ealing and Fulham. The architect was J. Stanley Beard and the interior design was by his partner W.R. Bennett. It had a 35 foot tall proscenium (the part of the stage between the front of the curtain and the orchestra pit) and a 25 foot deep stage. It had six dressing rooms, a Compton organ and a safety curtain weighing 5 tons. It seated 2,175 in stalls and a single balcony. The first floor accommodated a large tea room and dance hall where tea dances took place; there was even a cosmetics room for the lady patrons. The Forum was launched with a grand opening ceremony of music and films, conducted by the star Sydney Howard, on 17th December 1934.

We’ve kept the original exposed brick, wood flooring and steel columns in this Victorian Warehouse, working with architects Metropolitan Workshop. Very close to Farringdon Station (around 100 yards) on the corner of Saffron Hill and Greville Street, it’s apparently the exact location of Fagin’s Den “…a dirty and more wretched place he [Oliver] had never seen”. It’s improved since then A great meeting needs a great meeting room. When we first heard about this building being available, we turned it down. Not for us, bit too 1980′s, bit vanilla, bit too far from Borough Market and London Bridge station. Love it when we’re wrong. Fortunately Neil, the agent who introduced it, did that whole stalking thing until we relented and headed down there, so we are very much in his debt. First up this building is much closer to the market and the station than you realise (London Bridge is Northern and Jubilee lines and main line), and almost opposite Borough Station (Northern). And secondly, when we were on site, we removed some of the ceiling tiles and saw amazing ceiling heights and a coffered concrete ceiling throughout. That was that then. A beautiful ceiling showed us the potential (well done Sam for actually looking although he is the tallest in the office so kind of expected). We’re on site now, punching holes to open up the ground and first floors and adding another floor on top. A mix of individual offices, meeting rooms and shared working spaces under our co-working spaces co-working offer. We’re back on track with our sustainability hat on, so we have a number of Green Roof gardens, Rainwater harvesting, low energy lighting, PV and solar panels, lots of bike storage (secure) and showers, drying room etc. A great meeting needs a great meeting room. The rooms are tailored to specific types of meeting both in design and technology and are available by the hour or the day. 10 meeting rooms & possibly more with partitioned walls All the AV equipment is available and included in the cost Great breakout space outside the meeting room area

If there’s one building that we have that speaks for itself, it’s The Shard. We looked at a range of floors that were available but figured if you’re going to be in The Shard, you want the views. So we went for the highest office floors we could take on levels 24 and 25 (the highest office floor is level 28). Stunning views across London in a building that is recognised globally (and by Charlie’s 6 year old daughter). Architects Archer Humphreys (responsible for The Standard Hotel in New York and the Chiltern Firehouse in Marylebone) have been working with us to create space that highlights the extraordinary views wherever possible with a warm palette of materials and colour for a more intimate environment than you might otherwise expect in this building. The original Pinner’s Hall, on Old Broad Street in the City of London, was the seat of the Pinmakers’ Company for the ‘mystery of pin making’, before being demolished in 1798. Now the site of the British Bankers Association, the modern Pinners Hall provides one of the Square Mile’s most flexible venues for conferences, meetings and events within easy reach of Liverpool Street, Bank and Moorgate. Impressive from the outset, a full height atrium with a dramatic rock wall and a series of cascading waterfalls, welcomes visitors. Once inside, it is Pinners Hall’s versatility that sets it apart, offering an enviable selection of rooms that can be joined or separated in an array of combinations. Two large Council Rooms and three boardrooms, all with state-of-the-art technical equipment, can be connected to create an impressive conference suite, whilst the standalone Bishopgate and Cornhill rooms provide a more intimate setting for smaller meetings and presentations.
