    The John Pounds Centre is probably the finest conference centre in Portsmouth.     Landguard Manor, an 18th Century manor house set in 4.5 acres of peaceful lawns and gardens, is the perfect venue for a wedding, private function or business conference. Our magnificent reception rooms have open fireplaces with an entrance out onto the lawned gardens. Landguard Manor was built circa mid eighteenth century and was extended and remodelled in 1878 for Colonel Francis Henry Atherley. Weddings Landguard Manor has been approved by the Isle of Wight Register Office to perform civil wedding ceremonies in the house and the charge for this is £100. We offer a complete wedding and reception service which can be made highly individual to suit your taste. There is a superb staircase for an impressive bridal entrance, so if you choose a traditional style wedding, we have everything here for you. The ground floor has three reception rooms, in which the largest number we can cater for is 90. Alternatively, larger parties can be organised in a marquee on the lawn. We have two reception rooms licensed to hold a Civil Marriage Ceremony. In addition to your wedding reception, we will be happy to arrange an informal buffet for an evening party. The Howard Room has a fully stocked bar and dancing can be held in the Holderness/Atherley Rooms or alternatively in our Grand Hall. We can provide live entertainment and/or disco on your behalf.
