About the venue
Located in the heart of Newbury town centre, The Chequers Hotel is an 18th century coaching inn, providing excellent hotel accommodation in Newbury.
With six meeting rooms, the hotel offers an attractive venue for meetings, conferences, seminars, weddings and social events of any kind. The Garden and Carnarvon room overlook our garden and can seat up to 120 for a dinner dance with a dance floor, and can accommodate 160 delegates theatre style. The Craven, Oxford, Nelson and Corner rooms are suitable for seminars, meetings or interviews from 2 to 45 delegates and all have air conditioning and natural daylight. We recognise that no two events are the same, but the dedication and commitment of our experienced staff will ensure you won't have to worry about a thing as we help you plan your event right down to the very last detail. Although we have a range of rooms full of character, each meeting and event room has the same features: - High-speed internet access - Flip Chart and pens - Stationery box - Speaker phone - Data projector We even have our own preferred suppliers for all Audio Visual requirements, including set design and sound systems. Before you arrive, all equipment in the room is checked with each room set up and available 30 minutes before your meeting or event. When you arrive at the hotel, your dedicated member of staff - available all day long - will meet you to run through all the details. They'll confirm what's been booked and organise any last minute changes or additional requirements. Then it's the simple things like agreeing the preferred method of communicating of any messages on the day. There is a car park on site with 60 spaces. The nearest motorway is the M4 junction 13, which is 1 mile away. The nearest train station is Newbury which is also 1 mile away.
