About the venue
Since 1959, Diaoyutai State Guesthouse has been reserved for the exclusive use of foreign dignitaries.
It rather reminiscent of Camp David in the United States. A guarded and enclosed compound near the center of Beijing, it is accessible only through a private-use highway which is off-limits to the regular urban traffic.
