About the venue

The World Heritage Nijo-jo Castle in Kyoto is not only a property of Japan, but a common property shared by the whole world.

To be able to preserve and hand down this heritage to the next generation, we plan a full-scale repair of cultural properties starting with the National Treasure Ninomaru Palace. This full-scale repair project is the first major repair conducted since the castle was raised by Ieyasu Tokugawa in 1603. Because of this and the fact that the castle itself holds a great number of cultural assets, great funds and many years will be necessary to complete the project. Therefore, for this repair project we are collecting funds through our fundraising group: “The World Heritage Nijo-jo Castle – The Castle Owners’ Fundraising Group”. We thank each and every one of you for your deep understanding and warm support.
