The State Library of Victoria is one of Melbourne's most widely known and distinctive landmarks.

Located at 328 Swanston Street, the Library is a magnificent heritage building offering a modern, well-appointed Conference Centre. The Library's central city location is easily accessible by car or public transport. The State Library is Victoria’s major public reference and research library. All of the Library’s services can be made available to groups hiring the Conference Centre. Access to the Conference Centre is via Entry 3 on La Trobe Street. The Centre offers a suite of venues catering for a range of purposes including lectures, presentations, meetings and conferences. There is a fully appointed 210 seat theatrette, seminar rooms that can be used as seperate spaces or opened up to create one large space and lounge which is ideal for receptions, launches or cocktail parties. The lounge can also function as a 60 seat venue. Catering can easily be arranged. Village Roadshow Theatrette A beautifully appointed theatrette with fixed seating. Audio visual equipment is controlled from a touch screen console located on the raised stage. Whilst the theatrette seats 210 people it can easily cater for groups as small as 60. Conference Rooms Seminar Rooms 2 and 3 and the Lounge are situated on Level 2A of the Conference Centre. They feature natural light, dimmable ceiling lights and a unique perspective of the Library as they overlook the Library's Geanealogy Centre. Seminar Room 1 located on ground level is an intimate space featuring beech panelled walls. Seminar Rooms 1, 2 and 3 are suited to meetings, seminars and planning days while the Lounge can be used for cocktail parties, launches and presentations. Experimedia Experimedia is housed in a magnificent bluestone courtyard with a soaring atrium-style ceiling, designer furnishings and subdued lighting. A large media wall is available for presentations. The venue can be hired in conjunction with the adjacent Keith Murdoch Gallery which offers an impressive entrance and the opportunities for private viewings of the Gallery.
