The most famous hotel in the Channel Islands is steeped in history.

The OGH has 62 elegantly stylish rooms and suites, each individually designed to cater for a wide range of tastes and requirements, including all those comforts you’d expect, from en suite bath and shower to air conditioning, tea and coffee making facilities to trouser press and in-room safe to televisions that offer cable television, pay per view movies and radio. Complimentary internet access is provided throughout the hotel, in all rooms and public areas. Guests without a laptop can access the internet through their television in each room, plus the hotel also has an internet cafe. Old Government House, as the Governor’s official residence formerly, has been hosting memorable events, lavish receptions and important meetings since the time of the French Revolution – so whatever the occasion The OGH is more than capable of rising to it. It is still very much the island’s premier hospitality venue and the dedicated meetings & events team have a wealth of experience – they’ve organised everything from state banquets to society weddings, lavish charity balls to political summits. There’s a choice of seven individually styled meeting and banqueting rooms that combine traditional pomp and circumstance with state of the art technology. Theatre style presentations for up to 300, or banquets up to 150, can be comfortably accommodated, but they can also host much smaller and more intimate occasions – so whatever you have in mind, from a board meeting to an anniversary dinner, a drinks reception in the enclosed gardens and patio to a banquet for clients, they have the people, the experience and the resources to make everything go magnificently. The Old Government House Hotel has maintained an excellent reputation for superb dining and a remarkable cellar for longer than anyone can remember. From hearty breakfasts to light snacks and al fresco lunches to rich dinners Chef and his team provide guests with a succession of delightfully presented treats, prepared from the finest local ingredients. The hotel, not surprisingly, boasts two AA Rosettes and a Gold Award from VisitGuernsey.
