A Family Welcome Walk into the warmth of the Tufton Arms Hotel, a renowned coaching house in the centre of the medieval market town of Appleby-in-Westmorland, and savour the experience.

You will be welcomed with a smile at reception and a genuine concern that your stay will be not just pleasant but memorable. It is quite likely you will immediately meet one of the owners, the Milsom Family. They speak not of guests, but of friends who come to stay. Fine Cuisine Dinner is taken in the elegant Conservatory Restaurant, set overlooking the cobbled mews courtyard. Be prepared to spend some time sifting through the menus for a wide selection of delicious dishes, using local fresh produce. The superb quality of the food has not gone unnoticed with Chef David Milsom and his team having been awarded an AA red rosette. With a wine list of over 160 bins, from £8.95 to £100, expertly chosen for value and distinction, the perfect marriage to meat, game, fish or seafood is assured. Comfort & Hospitality A former 16th century coaching inn, the Hotel was completely refurbished in 1989 to evoke the Victorian era when the Tufton Arms reached its present proportions. All twenty-one en suite bedrooms are individually furnished and decorated, with all the modern day comforts you would expect. Banqueting & Conferences You may be on business or planning a function or wedding, in which case there are three purposefully designed conference and function suites to select from. Elegantly furnished to retain the hotel's character and ambiance, the suites offer a luxurious backdrop to any occasion and meet all business requirements. Conferences and Meetings The Tufton Arms function suites can accommodate groups from five to one hundred suitable for conferences, business presentations, training seminars and corporate hospitality. A comprehensive range of activities and pursuits for incentive groups and corporate entertainment are also on hand within the Eden Valley and the nearby Lake District. Business support services at the Hotel include photocopying, faxing and word processing. The Hotel also has three additional syndicate rooms if required. Planning the Event We would be delighted to assist in planning your event and our Conference Manager will only be to happy to advise on the choice of meeting room, room layout and catering/beverage arrangements. As a family run, individual Hotel we are able to offer our corporate clients a venue with character and most importantly the ability to be flexible and to deal with last minute adjustments as and when they occur. Our Conference Manager will handle your initial booking and most importantly be on hand during the actual event.
