Soho House was the elegant home of industrialist and enterpreneur Matthew Boulton from 1766 to 1809. Carefully restored, this fashionable Georgian house features period room interiors with fine collections of ormolu, silver, furniture and paintings. It was once a regular meeting place for some of the greatest minds of the 18th century. Matthew Boulton (1728-1809) was a founding member of the Lunar Society, a group of great thinkers and inventors who met regularly at his home at Soho House. Boulton’s guests included James Watt, Erasmus Darwin, Josiah Wedgwood and Joseph Priestley.

The conference rooms at the Black Country Living Museum offer modern facilities for small conferences seminars, meetings or training sessions with a unique attractive venue. With easy access and convenient parking in the heart of the West Midlands, close to M5 and M6. There are four, flexible, conference rooms which can accommodate between 8 and 130 people, although a comfortable maximum is about 100. Refreshments can be provided in adjacent rooms, or the Cafe Bar, with the Canalside Cafe or the Museum's famous Fried Fish shop available to Day Delegates.

The museum's conference room offers an attractive setting for meetings, conferences and seminars. A free guided tour during lunch-time breaks for delegates can be arranged and a delicious selection of freshly prepared refreshments and buffet lunches is available from the adjacent Saddle Room cafe. The room is available to hire at very competitive hourly rates during both daytime and evening hours. The room can accommodate fifty people, theatre- style. Presentation equipment includes slide and overhead projectors, VCR, flipcharts and wipe boards
