The earliest parts of Bodkin House have their origins in a 12th century priory which was destroyed by Henry VIII during the dissolution of the monasteries. The present building began life in the mid 17th century as a coaching inn serving the Bath-Gloucester route and was extended and upgraded in the Georgian period. Many famous people have visited the establishment including Jane Austen who came as a child and later mentioned her visits in her novel Northanger Abbey.     Our Conference facilities at the Coppleridge comprise the use of a variety of our suites depending on the size and needs of your particular company. Three Georgian town houses were first converted into a Hotel in 1949. It was later sold to an organization owned by the famous entertainers Tom Jones and Engelbert Humperdinck, who then spent a large amount of money extending and developing this fine hotel.
