Originally known as Sindlesham Lodge the main building was constructed in the late 1700’s. Before World War II it was owned by a Mrs Smith, a relative of Lady Astor and it was subsequently requisitioned for use during the war by Miles Aircraft of Woodley as a hostel and training school for female employees. After the war it was sold and became a Jesuit Training College. At this time the building was considerably extended and in 1964 The Berkshire was added with its unique vaulted ceiling and minstrels’ gallery. The Berkshire is where Weddings and Civil Partnership ceremonies take place. The building was purchased by its current owners in 1969 and since then the facilities have been further extended and improved, with a major refurbishment of the Flavell Banqueting Suite recently completed. The extensive facilities make Sindlesham Court the ideal venue for any private or corporate function. There are a number of discrete meeting, dining and conference rooms to cater for a variety of needs. In addition the separate Flavell Banqueting Suite with its large sprung dance floor can accommodate up to 300 for a sit-down dinner and can also be configured in theatre or conference style. Sindlesham Court’s catering is widely acknowledged as being of the highest standard. Our in-house team of chefs work in a state-of–the-art kitchen, which has been recently refitted and voted one of the UK’s top three new kitchens in 2005 by an independent panel of judges.
