Situated in the heart of the Angus glens, this romantic Scottish castle, home to the Earls of Strathmore and Kinghorne, promises to provide you with a magnificent and unforgettable setting for corporate hospitaIity Available for exclusive hire, up to 36 guests can be seated around the 'family table' for dinner. Alternatively 90 can be accommodated at banqueting tables. Traditional Scottiish entertainment such as Beating the Retreat, may also be arranged to make your special event even more memorable. The 16th century kitchens provides an atmospheric and more intimate setting for lunches or receptions. Private tours can begin with coffee,shortbread and/or whisky with a piper arranged to greet your guests. The Castle stands in an extensive park landscaped towards the end of the 18th century with the beautiful Italian Garden reflecting the peace and serenity of the castle grounds. These are also available for such events as craft fairs, Highland games, garden parties and have also proved to be a popular venue for filming.

Since the Peña Family moved in to the 55 room historic 15th Century story book Castle in 1984, there have been many requests for entry to it from all over the world - including from as far a field as Australia. The requests covered; film & movie makers, documentary producers, wedding organisers, hoteliers, private citizens, photographers, corporate hospitality organisers and Members of The Guthrie Clan (for good reason). With a few exceptions for day visits, all requests have been politely refused and access to the grounds has been very limited. However - the Family have always planned on allowing others to bask in what they have carefully restored, preserved and tastefully added over the years and that time has come. Guthrie Castle is a perfect setting for your special day - a true fairytale venue. Any Wedding held at Guthrie Castle is private and secure, where our staff ensure your expectations are exceeded!
