    Mottisfont Abbey’s history shows, quite simply, that it is a perfect place for meetings and fine dining. It has been said that Saxon freemen may have held their village moots, or meetings on this site before the Priory was built in 1201 by William Briwere, trusted advisor to Richard the Lionheart. The monks started offering hospitality about 800 years ago to visiting pilgrims. Then, in the last century, it became something of a retreat for the London social circle, which included George Bernard Shaw. Spencer House has an in-house team who are dedicated to planning and executing your event. The Head Chef will create a seasonal menu to suit your individual requirements. The Head Butler will be happy to advise on wines from our cellar. We are able to provide a full bespoke service to include printing and calligraphy. Working alongside carefully selected suppliers, Spencer House Events are happy to arrange flowers, entertainment, additional lighting, marquees and fireworks. The Facilty Fee for the exclusive hire of the House is based on the size and scale of each individual event and includes our own full event management.     Hedingham Castle's Norman keep, 110 feet high, was built c.1140 by Aubrey de Vere and is still owned by one of his descendants, The Honourable Thomas Lindsay and his wife Virginia. There are four floors to explore, including a magnificent Banqueting Hall spanned by a remarkable 28 foot arch, one of the largest Norman arches in England. A good view of this splendid room can be obtained from the Minstrels' Gallery, built within the thickness of the 12 foot walls.     Kimberley Hall is a private residence. For the first time in its history, the park and certain rooms in the house are available for hire for your event; be it a wedding, hospitality event, film or fashion shoot, product launch or large-scale open-air event. This is conducted on an exclusive basis so that your function will not compete with another on the same day. For our peace of mind and your assurance, we have a preferred list of suppliers of marquees, catering, bar and other services. Kimberley is an original and flexible venue that offers you a blank canvas upon which to exercise your creative energy. The principal ‘Music Room’ with its historic plasterwork and statues of Castor and Pollux (licensed for civil ceremonies) can accommodate 50 seated at tables, 100 seated comfortably in rows or 120 for a standing reception. These numbers can be increased when using a further three connecting rooms, to 100, 120, and 200 respectively. Additionally, the lower ground floor level with its vaulted ceilings provides a relaxed atmosphere for more informal events and parties with a capacity of at least 250. Should your event be larger than the house can provide space for, then the gardens with their spectacular view over the Capability Brown park towards the lake will provide ample space for marquees. If you are interested in holding an open-air event, the park itself offers an idyllic setting with no shortage of parking in the surrounding grass fields. The approximate capacity being in the region of 5,000. The setting of Kimberley Hall makes it an elegant and sumptuous location for lectures, demonstrations, end of year parties and product launches. Although there are some rooms available inside the Hall for conferences and luncheons, our corporate guests also place marquees in one of our fabulous gardens close to the Hall. There are several places near-by to stay the night if the party is to extend into the night. we can provide a list of hotels, pubs, b&b's on request. All establishments are carefully vetted for suitability. Central London is only 2.5hrs by car with the Hall only 2.5m from the main arterial route of the A11. Wymondham train station is 2.5 miles away with the Journey from London Kings Cross taking 2 hrs. There is also a 750m long grass airstrip for flying shows and flying visitors.

    Welcome to the Haldon Belvedere! Devon's most sought after venue is perched high on Haldon Hill and stands in 5 acres of woodland in the heart of the lovely Devon countryside some 6 miles from the cathedral city of Exeter. From its vantage-point, panoramic views extending to Dartmoor, Exmoor, the South Hams, the Exe valley and estuary can be seen. On a really clear day, the Isles of Purbeck and Portland Bill in Dorset are visible. Haldon Belvedere, also known as Lawrence Castle is a Grade II* listed triangular tower originally built in 1788 by Sir Robert Palk as the centre piece to his vast estates and dedicated to the memory of Major-General Stringer Lawrence the founder of the Indian army. You can find us by turning off the A38 at the Exeter Racecourse exit and following the Tourist signs for Haldon Belvedere. Some 2 miles from the A38 you will come to a junction named Haldon Gate. The drive leading to the castle is on the right a few metres beyond this junction. The entrance to the carpark is on the right just before the gates leading to the drive. Visitors should use the designated carpark but coaches will require to use the parking splay at Haldon Gate junction. CONFERENCES AND FUNCTIONS Haldon Belvedere is available for private functions, corporate entertaining or for that very special launch or event. Because of Health and Safety issues, the preparation of hot food within the building itself is not possible but a buffet style reception is possible for a maximum of 45 people. We have designated caterers who have a range of menus to suit all tastes. To maintain quality and hygiene requirements, hirers are not permitted to provide their own catering or bring in caterers other than our designated caterers.

    On a spur of land rising above the River Deben you’ll find Sutton Hoo; the burial ground of Anglo-Saxon kings and warriors. This atmospheric place is one of Britain's most important and internationally renowned archaeological sites. One of several large mounds was excavated in 1939, revealing a fabulous Anglo-Saxon ceremonial burial chamber within the remains of a 90 ft ship, that had lain undisturbed for over 1300 years. Only 500 yards from the famous mounds you’ll find the exhibition hall, which houses a full-size reconstruction of the chamber and tells the story of the site, described as 'Page One of English History'.
