    Originally the hall was part of the College of Vicars Choral, which occupied a large area to the south-east of the Minster. The Vicars Choral sang the Services in the Minster. Bedern Hall was the communal meeting place and dining hall for the College from about 1390 A.D. until the mid 1600s, when it passed into private hands. The Hall is one of the few buildings of this once great college still standing and is of importance to students of architecture and history The Medieval Bedern Hall was once the Refectory, or Dining Hall, of the Vicars Choral of York Minster. Now you have the opportunity to hire this unique Hall as a venue for private and business entertaining. The restored monastic building – once home to Sir Laurence Olivier & Vivien Leigh – combines an original facade with a stylish modern interior & is available on an exclusive-hire basis. Dating back to the 12th century, the Monk’s Refectory can accommodate up to 250 for a theatre-style conference or 160 for dinner, while the 16th-century Abbots Hall can hold up to 90 for meetings. Concept 1 Concept 1 is a space you can make entirely your own with the absolute certainty that you will have exclusive access to it during your event. Each area within Concept 1 can be used in isolation or together, making it a perfect venue for any event between 85 to 350 delegates.
