    If you come to Kelsall Hill you’ll find a dynamic farming business that’s diversified into a range of businesses. The latest development includes the building of a new world class equestrian centre with two large indoor arenas and two outdoor arenas. The centre is serviced by an ‘in house’ catering offer called Urchin’s Kitchen, named after a local geological feature in Primrose Wood which is part of Delamere Forest. The new centre also includes a range of rooms which can be used for flexibly for meetings, conferences and family occasions. All rooms have high speed wifi connections publicly available and there’s a fully integrated sound system that can be used. There’s plenty of parking and easy accessibility to all areas with two lifts servicing the 1st floor areas, one of which also facilitates access the main indoor seating area. The outdoor terrace, on the first floor, that adjoins Urchin’s kitchen can also be accessed from outside without any steps making access for wheel chair users easy and straight forward. The centre is set in spectacular Cheshire countryside and there are great views in every direction. There are over 80 horses based at the centre in livery stables and there’s capacity in our competition stables for another 40 horses for short term stays and competitions. As the centre attracts a range of riders and runs a full and varied calendar of events there’s normally something going on making the backdrop interesting for any clients as competitions, training and practice are all ongoing. The main grandstand arena has 320 seats overlooking a huge arena which has an irrigated surface made up of sand and man-made fibres giving a great footing for horses. The centre has a number of business units wrapped around the ground floor including an equine vets, saddlery, podiatrist, sports rehabilitation centre, pet food vendor and offices. In the old farm yard there are a number of furniture business based in what were once cattle buildings and a rope seller. Outside there’s a 6.5 mile farm ride for clients that have their own horses, a 4.5 furlong gallop, cross country schooling field for training and cross-country courses where competitors compete from grassroots to international level. We have done our best to landscape the centre sympathetically with the environment making full use of the local sandstone that can be seen in our fields and using trees from our own woods to create the feature lighting in Urchin’s Kitchen. We’ve created new ponds to allow us to store the water collected from the hard standings around the centre which have created new habitats for a whole range of wildlife not seen on the farm before. Visitors may get a chance to see our Brown Swiss cattle grazing in the fields, these are the future of our dairy herd which is based on Lord Cholmondeley’s estate. Our goal is to offer clients a great experience where friendly staff strive to deliver and beat customer expectations with functional and clean facilities ready for clients to use.
