You don’t have to go far outside Cambridge to hit leafy meadows and green spaces. And when you stay at Turing Locke, you’ll be in prime position to explore it all. Just two miles north-west of the quaint streets and punts of postcard-fame, Eddington is a brand-new sustainable district. Cambridge Business Park and other campuses are nearby. It’s a short taxi, bike or Park & Ride bus into the historic centre, and well-located for the airport. And – unusually for the city – there are ample parking spaces, as well as electric charging points and secure bike storage too. Turing Locke is a world of its own. Eat breakfast, lunch and dinner without leaving the building. Work on your own or with colleagues in the high-tech co-working space. Then unwind with a workout session, stroll around the courtyard and surrounding countryside or a cocktail on the terrace. With its mid-century furniture and fittings, dusky colour palette and sleek, modernist architecture and design inspired by the city’s avant-garde past, this is a space you won’t want to leave in a hurry. Writing? Researching? Meeting? Turing Locke is named after the pioneering computer scientist, but even if you’re not making your own scientific breakthroughs, our co-working space is the perfect environment for focus and clarity. The Wi-Fi is superfast, there are private rooms to book, and the coffee’s pretty good too. Looking for a space to work away from the calm of the co-working space, then head to the Luminosity and Encryption suites which are primed for team meetings of 14 seated in each. Need something a bit bigger, you can join both together to sit up to 30 guests. If you are looking for something different for an event or drinks then look at either The Courtyard or The Roof. The Courtyard is a leafy breathing space that is perfect for either a summer or autumn night for up to 100 guests. The Roof is a unique space in Cambridge that can be used to observe Cambridge from a versatile space for up to 100 guests, either for drinks with a view or some morning group yoga.

The foundation stone for the building itself was laid in 1890, and the house took some five years to complete. It was first opened as a hotel in 1930. However, there are artifacts in the hotel which date back as far as 1664. Large imposing rooms, oak-panelled and mellowed with the years, a collection of fine oil paintings, ornate carved fireplaces and the magnificent oak staircase tell their own story of a hotel rich in history and character. Blessed with so many architectural and decorative examples of our heritage, not to mention hidden treasures, such as the original mosaic floors in the porch, laid by craftsman brought over from Italy, the house is listed as one of national and historic interest. The Hotel's outstanding interior and location, made it a natural choice for the classic English country house in Alfred Hitchcock's production of "The Paradine Case", starring Gregory Peck, and more recently in the BBC's portrayal of the life of Donald Campbell. The Langdale Chase history book charting the story of Langdale Chase Hotel from 1890 to present is available from reception for a small fee.
