    Housed in the old Co-operative Society Northern headquarters, Discovery Museum is one of the largest and most popular visitor attractions in the North East. Designed by Oliver, Leeson and Wood in 1899, the Great Hall is a magnificent wood panelled and tiled room. It has beautiful lanterns added in the Art deco era and wonderful decorative metal arches. The hall has a built in stage of 9.23m x 3.79m which is an ideal location to operate the LCD projector, screen, lectern with microphones and full PA system from. The wonderful huge windows all have full black out blinds on them. Your delegates can arrive for registration with a desk just inside the door and then move to back of the hall where we can serve refreshments. There are many other options to hold receptions and small dinners in the museum. A popular reception area is around the Turbina which at one time was the fastest boat in the world. We can also hold events in other popular galleries such as the Science Maze and The Story of the Tyne.

    The Hatton Gallery houses one of the largest and most handsome exhibition spaces in North East England. It stages a highly-regarded programme of historical, modern and contemporary art exhibitions, and over recent years this programme has included major historical monographs, diverse partnership projects and exciting new commissions from leading contemporary artists. The gallery also has its own collection of paintings, drawings, prints and sculpture from the 15th to the 20th centuries by a diverse range of artists.     Refurbished in 2009, this fantastic venue offers an exciting alternative in which to hold your event. Whether you are organising a conference, meeting or networking event, wedding or party this venue provides an unforgettable experience. The museum features a large exhibition space of almost 500m2 which has two retractable walls allowing the room to be fully subdivided and offers great versatility. Registration desks can be set up in the corridor outside of the room with refreshments served just inside the door. LCD projectors can project directly onto the walls of the exhibition space and the floor to ceiling window all have black out blinds. The Clore Learning Centre is a suite of two rooms which can be hired separately or as one larger space. Both rooms are equipped with full data projection facilities. Registration desks can be set up in the corridor outside of the room with refreshments served just inside the door. The windows running along two sides of the room have black out blinds. There is also an attractive Council room available for hire on the second floor. Lined with Victorian bookcases and boasting stunning views over the city, it makes a unique setting for a maxium of 12 people for a board meeting. All refreshments are served on a table at the back of the room.
